How to deal with CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error

Since inception, Microsoft Corporation has come up with innumerable versions and updates for Windows on a regular basis. Millions of Windows users worldwide strive to install the latest versions and upgrade their system in order to stay technologically advanced.

 

What is error 0x000000EF and why does it occur?

Usually, error 0x000000EF with the statement CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED pops up along with a blue screen while Windows upgrade or installing new operating files. Quickly uninstall and then reinstall the faulty drives. If there are any compatibility issues fix the same by choosing the Upgrade Driver Software option.
  • SFC/SCANNOW command: Open the Command Prompt window and type the command SFC/SCANNOW and press Enter to view the results of the scan. If there is any error detected, a message will be displayed with the status of the error that will be automatically repaired thereafter.
  • Boot selected programs: Choose the Selective Start-up option in the System Configuration. This will lead to boot selective files and not the entire Microsoft services.
  • Restore your computer and run a virus scan: A virus scan is highly advisable to identify the infected files and repair them on an urgent basis.

If all the above-mentioned processes don’t work, you should uninstall and then reinstall all the Operating system files to fix the error.
